David Larson is the Director of Mass Audubon’s Birder’s Certificate Program, a college-level ornithology course, and the Certificate Program in Bird Ecology, a course for naturalist-guides in Belize. He is the Education Coordinator for Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center in Newburyport, Massachsetts. He holds a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Minnesota and has served on the faculty of Boston University. His passion for natural history was kindled in his youth, and he has been a serious birder for over 25 years. He has birded and led expeditions throughout North America, the Caribbean, Trinidad, Belize, Brazil, Ecuador, Panama, Botswana, Hawaii, and Japan.
