Yellow Crowned Night-Herons
at Hemenway Landing, Eastham, MA, 7/14/2000

This is one of two YCNH seen at this location on this date. At first impression, both seemed to be adult birds (see above). However, closer examination (and a lot of speculation) suggests that they may be second year birds, based on the dark forehead and small plumes.
