Birding Trip to Hydrographer Canyon
Brookline Bird Club
8/26/2006
Just a
few photo highlights from a fabulous trip:

Red-necked Phalaropes

Red and Red-necked Phalaropes

Greater and Cory's Shearwaters

Greater, Cory's, and Audubon's Shearwaters

One of three White-faced Storm-Petrels (N40º13.774', W069º07.738')

The same bird

A different White-faced Storm-Petrel

Wilson's Storm-Petrels
Finally,
an interesting bird. Note the smaller, darker Cory's Shearwater...

(right)

(flying)

The bird
on the right appears to be a Scopoli's Shearwater,
the Mediterranean race of Cory's Shearwater (C. diomedea diomedea),
while the bird on the left is the usual Borealis (C. d. borealis)
subspecies.
Thanks
to Ida for arranging this trip and Rick and Steve for spotting
and narrating.
