White-faced
Ibis
Parker River
NWR, 4/26/2005
Note the
white feathering surrounding the face.
The amount of white feathering on the forehead makes this bird
easier to pick
out from the Glossy Ibises. Also, note that the white extends
around the eye.
In Glossy Ibises, the light feathering does not extend behind
the eye.
Note the
rather indistinct white margin to the face, and the red eye.
The reddish
legs show up in this shot.
Thanks
to Davis Noble for teasing this bird out from the flock of Glossies!
